Am I required to take the read the Body of Knowledge or take a course before the assessment?

Though we highly recommend you read the Body of Knowledge (Bok) before the exam, they are not a prerequisite for our certification assessment. Our BoK's do, however, align directly with the exam and include sample exam questions.
How do I apply for an assessment to become certified?

To register for an assessment, you must first complete the application process. Upon successful eligibility confirmation, you will receive instructions on how to register for the exam. Go to the Certification Process page for more information.
Can I take the assessment remotely?

Yes, the certification assessments are proctored and can be taken remotely from the comfort of your home or a location of your choice at any time that’s convenient for you.
What happens after I successfully pass an assessment?

After passing the assessment, you will receive a certificate that you can proudly share with current and future employers to demonstrate your competency in team leadership.
What happens if I don’t successfully pass an assessment?

If you don’t pass a certification assessment on the first attempt, you are authorized two additional attempts within 6 months of the first attempt.
How do I prepare for the assessment?

Our Body of Knowledge's directly align to the certification assessment and include sample questions to help assist you in preparing for the assessment. These materials are designed to support your success.
Why am I required to upload my resume and provide references?

FMI reviews resumes and may contact references to verify the experience and/or education stated. The review is to bolster the credibility of our certification programs and the certification holders.
